In one of the most offensive showcases of the season, the Oxnard College Condors powered their way to a 19-12 victory over Santa Monica in a high-scoring battle on the road.
Oxnard (10-17, 6-3) racked up an impressive 22 hits and broke the game open with a nine-run sixth inning, turning a tight contest into a commanding lead they would not relinquish.
The Condors wasted no time getting on the board, plating two runs in both the first and second innings behind timely hitting from Amber Cervantez and Mia Cardenas. Cervantez led the offensive explosion with a remarkable 5-for-6 performance, driving in four runs and scoring four times to anchor the lineup.
Santa Monica battled back, taking a 7-6 lead in the fifth inning after a string of clutch hits. However, Oxnard responded emphatically in the sixth. The Condors sent 13 batters to the plate and capitalized on key hits, walks, and defensive miscues to score nine runs in the frame, regaining control of the game for good.
Samantha Cervantes provided a major spark with a two-run home run earlier in the game and finished with three RBIs, while Jiselle Garcia and Mia Cardenas each contributed multi-hit efforts and combined for four RBIs.
Additional offensive standouts included:
- Isabela Nava: 4 hits, 2 runs, RBI
- Alexah Espinoza: 3 hits, 2 runs, RBI, 2 doubles
- Alizsa Rosas: reached base multiple times and drove in a run
In the circle, Cervantez also earned the win, going the distance while striking out four. Despite allowing 12 runs (eight earned), she consistently worked out of trouble and benefited from strong run support.
Santa Monica (0-13, 0-10) tallied 17 hits of their own and made things interesting late with a four-run seventh inning, but the early damage proved too much to overcome.
The Condors' offensive firepower and resilience highlighted a complete team effort as they continue to build momentum in conference play.
