Denisse Garcia and Emmanuel Solis Inducted into the VCSHOF
Two outstanding student athletes were recognized by the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame
OXNARD, CA - Oxnard College is proud to announce the induction of two outstanding athletes into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame (VCSHOF).
Denisse Garcia, our Female Athlete of the Year, has shown exceptional prowess on the field and in the classroom. A State Championship finalist in 2019 and MVP of her high school team, Denisse scored over 30 goals during her senior season. She graduated high school in February 2020 at just 16 years old, with a 4.0 GPA. Denisse served in the United States Air Force at 17 years old, ending her service as an Airman First Class. During her sophomore season at Oxnard College, she scored 17 goals and made one assist, setting a single-season record at OC. She was named Offensive MVP and made the All-Conference First Team in the Western State Conference as a sophomore.
Emmanuel Solis, our Male Athlete of the Year, has also demonstrated remarkable athletic ability. Named High School Player of the Year at Buena HS, Emmanuel became a State Champion at Oxnard College in 2022. He was named to the All-Conference First Team in the Western State Conference as a freshman and was recognized as State Defender of the Year. He made the All-Conference First Team in the Western State Conference as a sophomore. Emmanuel is transferring to Cal State San Marcos.
We are incredibly proud of both Denisse and Emmanuel for their achievements and contributions to Oxnard College Athletics. We look forward to their continued success in their future endeavors.
