OC Hits Buzzer Beater to Take Down LA Pierce
Tahj Comeaux hits a 35-foot buzzer beater to take down LA Pierce
The Condors Nest went crazy as Tahj Comeaux (left) hit a 35-foot buzzer beater to take down LA Pierce (11-8) on Saturday night.
With the score tied at 82, KV Myricks (18 points, seven assists, seven steals, five rebounds) dribbled to the right side of the arc, swung a pass to Comeaux who calmly hit the biggest shot of his young college career. "I didn't forget the clock," said Myricks. "I saw my teammate cut and thought he had a good look, but they had him covered, so I swung it back to Tahj."
Many on the Brahma side of the court thought that the clock had expired, but the referees counted the basket to give OC (4-10) the 85-82 victory.
"That was a nice win for the guys," said head coach Ron McClurkin. "That's three out of the last four, and they are starting to buy in to what we are trying to teach."
Shavontea Ennis had 16 points, Will Blue had 12 points and six rebounds, with Taieem and Tahj Comeaux balancing the scoring at 10 and 11 each.
Oxnard will finish their non-conference schedule on Friday when they host LA Valley College at 5:00. The Lady Condors will tip-off at 7:00 against the Compton Tartars.
